Marco Nisticò

Marco Nisticò studied voice with his father Benito Nisticò at the conservatoty in Avellino/Italy and continued his education at the International Vocal Arts Institute (IVAI) in Tel Aviv. Additionally, he received a Bachelor degree in dramatics at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris and participated in master classes given by Renata Scotto.

From 1998 until 2001, he gave first guest performances in minor and medium roles at Opéra de Monte Carlo, Teatro di San Carlo Neapel, Chicago Opera Theatre and Glyndebourne Opera Festival. In the corse of a tour with Eurostage Productions he appeared as Figaro (IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA) in the Netherlands, taking on the role again at the 2002 Wexford Opera Festival and, one year later, at Toledo Opera.

Other commitments included Schaunard with Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, Marcello with Western Plains Opera and Connecticut Grand Opera, Figaro with Filarmonica de Jalisco/Mexiko and Sharpless with Cedar Rapids Opera. Regular engagements led Mr Nisticò to New York, where he was heard as Morales/Dancairo, Don Prudenzio, Schaunard, Sharpless and Pallante (AGRIPPINA) at New York City Opera between 2005 and 2007.

Recent appearances include Malatesta with Connecticut Grand Opera, Francesco Foscari, Figaro and Rodrigue with Sarasota Opera and Marcello with Teatro di San Carlo Naples. Current and future projects will take him as Dulcamara to Caramoor Festival/New York and Toledo Opera as well as to Japan, where he will take on the title role in FALSTAFF. In 2011, Mr Nisticò will make his debut in LA TRAVIATA with Metropolitan Opera New York and sing Dulcamara at New York City Opera.

As a concert singer, Mr Nisticò has stood out in performances of Schubert’s WINTERREISE (Teatro Diana, Neapel) Fauré’s REQUIEM and Schubert’s MASS C-MAJOR (both at Carnegie Hall/New York in 2007).
