Eduardo Villa

Los Angeles born tenor Eduardo Villa is one of the most sought-after singers of his generation. He regularly appeared in leading roles at Metropolitan Opera in New York, including the title roles in DON CARLO and ERNANI, Radames, Rodolfo (LUISA MILLER), Don José, Pinkerton, Turiddu and Enzo (LA GIOCONDA).

Mr Villa began his musical training playing the violin and later studied musical comedy at Santa Barbara City College and voice at University of Southern California. He soon established himself in the lyric and spinto repertoire and performed in roles like Alfredo, Don Carlo, Don José, Enzo, Riccardo and Otello with most US and Canadian opera companies, including Atlanta Opera, Connecticut Opera, Philadelphia Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Florida Grand Opera and Vancouver Opera.

In Europe, Mr Villa has regularly appeared at Bavarian State Opera in Munich, his roles including Radames, Don Jose, Pinkerton, Italian Singer (DER ROSENKAVALIER), Turiddu, Macduff, Fenton (FALSTAFF), Hoffmann, Duca, Rodolfo (LA BOHEME), Alfred and Des Grieux (MANON). Other commitments have led Mr Villa to Shanghai, Rome, Geneva, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Cologne and Hamburg. 2008/2009 projects included Riccardo in Zagreb, Ernani with the Boston Opera, Canio with the Met and Radames in Perth/Australia.
